Ashleigh Smith – Soft Tissue Therapist
Where She Began
Ashleigh was born and raised in Durban, South Africa. This is where she developed a passion for sports and fitness, including netball, football, swimming and above all, horse-riding. After incurring a few injuries herself, she became fascinated with physical therapy and what it takes to get back on track after an injury.
She received her BSc in Human Physiology, Genetics and Psychology from the University of Pretoria in 2012. Afterwards, she realised that her interest still lay in treating injuries and chronic pain. It was then that she went on to get her Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy as well as becoming certified in Equine Therapy.
Today she still uses the knowledge from her degree to give advice to her patients. This advice helps them make small changes that can have huge benefits to their everyday lives. She has a love for health and fitness and finds it incredibly rewarding to see the progress patients make.
In her spare time she enjoys strength training, Pilates and anything that is outdoors and active.
